WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE?

What Else Could It Be?

There are many causes of tremors other than Parkinson's disease. Generally, it requires examination by a neurologist to diagnose the cause.

Other Parkinsonism Syndromes

The characteristic symptoms of Parkinson's disease (tremor, rigidity, bradykinesia, and postural instability) is termed 'Parkinsonism'.  This is a general term and not all patients with 'Parkinsonism' have typical Parkinson's disease.  Early in the disease process, it may be difficult to know whether a patient has typical Parkinson's disease or a syndrome that mimics it.  The development of additional symptoms and the subsequent course of the disease, generally point to the correct diagnosis.

If you have any doubts or questions, contact your physician.
